>Americans in general look down on Mexico, which is precisely the attitude with which the Committee wants the people of the United States to regard Mexico. What we need to do is change our thinking about Mexico and South America in general.

Google images of Mexico City, Santiago, Panama City, Lima, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Bogota, etc. Yeah, there are some seedy parts of town, but rarely as bad as the shit you'd find in Detroit, LA, or NYC. I lived all over South American for ~15 years. Would prefer to go back as the culture is more hospitable and welcoming, much like the US mid-west, but the communists have made making money very very difficult. Imagine the western hemisphere united. It would be a force to reckon with. Now you understand the importance of Bolsonaro…and now Milei (perhaps) and Obrador. We can overcome the socialism over time, but not if we're divided. Drive economic partnerships/incentives and it will quickly take out the trash.
