The Angel of God, or as came to Moses, described as "THE ANGEL OF THE LORD".
Also he who called himself "I AM".
Exodus 3:14
“And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
then 1000 years later, Jesus declares to the Jews who call on Abraham as their father, but not Isaac nor Jacob, meaning they declare they are not Israelites, but Edomites.
Christ tells them again who he is, saying…
John 8:58
“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.”
Therefore, we see it was the Great I AM who smote the Assyrian Army. And we see that I AM, The Lord, The Angel of The Lord fights Israels enemy and defeats them at will, repeatedly throughout Biblical History.
Exodus 15:3
“The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.”
Exodus 15:3 Context
1Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. 2The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. 3The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. 4Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. 5The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. 6Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
