Advancing American Freedom Expands Organization to Mobilize Conservative Movement

Advancing American Freedom today announced that Tim Chapman, previously senior advisor, will become president of the organization, as the group moves to expand its operations. In addition, AAF has announced the promotion of Paul Teller, who has served as the group’s executive director since its founding, to Executive Vice President, enlarging his current policy, messaging, and coalitions work and overseeing a soon-to-be-announced portfolio that will ensure AAF builds the increased capacity to be a national leader in the conservative movement. Chapman has held multiple high profile leadership positions in the conservative movement over the last two and a half decades. Teller is widely seen as one of the nation’s most skilled conservative operators with an unmatched focus on building and maintaining conservative coalitions.
These changes come at a time of upheaval in the conservative movement, where Advancing American Freedom will continue to stand for the time-honored principles that have created a winning movement for the last 40 years. Earlier this year, AAF announced a goal of 20 million dollars for its overall 2024 budget and is currently on track to meet or exceed that goal. These personnel advancements reflect a commitment by the AAF board of directors, its founder Mike Pence, and our many supporters across the nation to build a permanent beachhead for conservative principles in Washington, DC.

Former President Donald Trump said in a new fundraising email that his campaign donors will help to choose his running mate.
“Patriot — do not listen to the fake news media,” the email says in all caps. “They have NO IDEA who my Vice President will be, because that will be decided by YOU.”
“The silent majority will be silent no longer! The Washington Swamp has done everything in its power to take away your voice, but now it’s finally YOUR TURN to have YOUR SAY,” it said.
The email features multiple links to his fundraising website.
“Democrats are doing what they do best. Trying to RIG THIS ELECTION by spreading LIE AFTER LIE AFTER LIE,” the email says. “I’m not making any final decisions until I hear from YOU!”
The links bring visitors to his fundraising website that allows his supporters to type in the name of the person they think should be his vice president. It also asks what issues the vice president should focus on, and gives options to choose from, including ending election interference, securing the border, eliminating the deep state, protecting parents’ rights and defeating communism/socialism, among others.
“The verdict is in. My next V.P. will be… DECIDED BY YOU! Cast your vote,” it reads.
It asks if the second-in-command should be a government official or political outsider. Other questions ask if the V.P. should be a person of faith or be a military veteran. The questionnaire also allows for a personalized message to be written to the former president, and then asks for a signature.
Underneath, the visitor is prompted to donate, ranging from $20.24 to $3,300 or “other.”
There has been a shortlist of names floated for the position, including Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York, along with Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida and Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, J.D. Vance of Ohio, Marco Rubio of Florida and Tim Scott of South Carolina. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson have been said to be on the list as well.
Mr. Trump has said he will probably announce his second-in-command selection at the Republican National Convention that will be held July 15-18 in Milwaukee.
