Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy called for Congress to place warning labels on social-media platforms on Monday, similar to the labels for cigarettes and alcohol, in order to protect kids’ mental health. “The mental health crisis among young people is an emergency — and social media has emerged as an important contributor,” Murthy wrote in a New York Times op-ed, warning that prolonged screen time negatively alters an adolescent’s brain. To illustrate his point, he cited a 2019 American Medical Association study, which concluded that teens who spend more than three hours per day on social media double their risk of anxiety and depression.

The University of Michigan and the City University of New York (CUNY) failed to properly assess whether anti-Israel campus protests made for hostile environments for students, faculty, and staff, the Department of Education said on Monday. “OCR found no evidence that the university complied with its Title VI requirements to assess whether incidents individually or cumulatively created a hostile environment for students, faculty, or staff, and if so, to take steps reasonably calculated to end the hostile environment, remedy its effects, and prevent its recurrence,” the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), which investigated 75 complaints against the University of Michigan and nine against CUNY, said.

They inevitably use this to push the argument "This or that is regulated so what's the problem?" As if any kind of regulation is now an argument for every kind of regulation. I don't like slippery slope because it's dishonest to imply you just accidentally ended up at tyranny.
