I think he's begging to find out that quality investigative reporting, like his digs about DNC operatives working with the previous Ukrainian government, don't generate enough cash to keep the lights on. So he's switching it up to cover 'pop culture.'
Reminds me of a rare books dealer who became frustrated that his rare, valuable books languished unsold for years, but the first printings (of first editions), of the Harry Potter books he acquired were selling at such a rapid clip he had to take down the add to catch up on mailing the ones he sold. Remember he was almost embarrassed to be selling them, but it's hard to turn down a $200 sale when they're flooding in per each email inquiry.
In Lee's mind, has started selling Harry-Q-Potter stories.
