The easiest way to silence some one who wont shut up, is to get them to repeat false or inaccurate information because after they are called out most of what they say will also be disregarded. Same thing goes on here every fucking day on a massive scale.
And the internets are just about everywhere now, from your pocket to potentially dozen of devices in your household. So in turn information spreads faster no matter if it is accurate or not. Further more it is spread via various pipelines to target certain groups of people and to try and elicit a desired reaction.
