Timeline is a little off. WL hadn't started publicizing anything yet. I think the DNC had already decided they wanted to blame Russia. SR was the only one who could contradict that narrative. In fact, maybe SR was going to expose that narrative, and had to be stopped before he could leak what Crowdstrike was REALLY doing.
