AOC doubles down on bizarre, cringeworthy antics at pro-Bowman rally: ‘It’s called organizing’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended her manic cameo at a weekend Bronx rally in support of fellow far-left Rep. Jamaal Bowman, saying the R-rated event had been “fun as hell.”

“Fox News is big mad that we’re for the many, not the money,” the “Squad” member wrote on X along with a clip of her on-stage gyrations at St. Mary’s Park in Mott Haven.

During Saturday’s rally, the 34-year-old Ocasio-Cortez darted onto the stage, jumped up and down, then strutted to the tune of the Cardi B song “Enough” in an attempt to fire up her audience.

“Hoes better lower they tone when they spittin’. B—es is washed, soap on the dishes. I apply pressure like boa constrictors,” were among the lyrics that

could be heard in the background.

When Ocasio-Cortez got to the lectern, she began shouting at her audience, clamoring for a cease-fire in Gaza and rallying would-be Bowman supporters to “take the country back” — repeatedly knocking her microphones over in the process.

Almost exactly one month earlier, formerPresident Donald Trump drew between 8,000 and 10,000 to the South Bronx for a campaign rally in Crotona Park, law enforcement sources told The Post at the time.

Saturday’s gathering was meant to rally support for Bowman (D-NY) in his primary challenge from Westchester County Executive George Latimer. When Bowman’s turn came to speak, the 48-year-old made clear that he has no intention of going down quietly.

Grabbing a stool and parading it around onstage, Bowman led chants of “Cease-fire now” and then went on a profanity-laced rant against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

“We are gonna show f—king AIPAC the power of the motherf—king South Bronx,” he bellowed out at one point.

Critics and netizens ribbed the progressive lawmakers over the rambunctious rally, with somelikening Ocasio-Cortez to “The Office” character Dwight Schrute’s infamous unwitting Benito Mussolini impersonation.

Polls show Bowman trailing Latimer by 17 percentage points in the 16th District, which covers much of Westchester County and the far northern Bronx.

On Monday, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) — who helped found Team Blue, a super PAC meant to help re-elect Democratic incumbents — endorsed Latimer.

Judge alters Trump’s gag order, letting him talk about witnesses, jury after hush money conviction

NEW YORK (AP) — A Manhattan judge on Tuesday modified Donald Trump's gag order, freeing the former president to comment publicly about witnesses and jurors in the hush money criminal trial that led to his felony conviction, but keeping others connected to the case off limits until he is sentenced July 11.

Judge Juan M. Merchan’s decision — just days before Trump’s debate Thursday with President Joe Biden —clears the presumptive Republican nominee to again go on the attack against his lawyer-turned-foe lawyer Michael Cohen, porn actor Stormy Daniels and other trial witnesses. Trump was convicted in New York on May 30 of falsifying records to cover up a potential sex scandal, making him the first ex-president convicted of a crime.

In a five-page ruling, Merchan wrote that the gag order was meant to “protect the integrity of the judicial proceedings" and that protections for witnesses and jurors no longer applied now that the trial has ended and the jury has been discharged.

Merchan said it had been his “strong preference” to continue barring Trump from commenting about jurors, whose names have not been made public, but that he couldn't justify doing so. The judge did leave in place a separate order prohibiting Trump and his lawyers from disclosing the identities of individual jurors or their addresses. Trump lawyer Todd Blanche said after the verdict the defense team has destroyed that information.

“There is ample evidence to justify continued concern for the jurors,” Merchan wrote.

Merchan also left in place a ban on Trump commenting about court staffers, the prosecution team and their families until he is sentenced, writing that they must “continue to perform their lawful duties free from threats, intimidation, harassment, and harm.” Those restrictions do not prohibit Trump from commenting about the judge himself or District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose office prosecuted the case.

Trump’s lawyers had urged Merchan to lift the gag order completely, arguing there was nothing to warrant restricting Trump’s First Amendment rights after the trial’s conclusion. Trump has said the gag order prevented him from defending himself while Cohen and Daniels continued to pillory him.

Though largely a win for Trump, his campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung criticized Tuesday's ruling as “another unlawful decision by a highly conflicted judge, which is blatantly un-American as it gags President Trump, the leading candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election during the upcoming Presidential Debate on Thursday.”

Cheung said Trump and his lawyers “will immediately challenge today’s unconstitutional order," arguing that portions of the gag order still in effect prevent him from speaking about the judge, whom he alleges had a conflict of interest, or repeating his unfounded claims that Biden directed the prosecution.

The Manhattan DA's office had asked Merchan to keep the gag order’s ban on comments about the jury and trial staff in place at least until Trump is sentenced, but said last week they would be OK allowing Trump to comment about witnesses now that the trial is over.

A message seeking comment was left with the Manhattan DA's office.

Cohen, who testified for four days against his ex-boss, reacted to the ruling via text message. He wrote: “For the past 6 years, Donald and acolytes have been making constant negative statements about me. Donald’s failed strategy of discrediting me so that he can avoid accountability didn’t work then and won’t work now.”

Daniels’ lawyer Clark Brewster said they “have nothing but respect” for Merchan and defer to his post-verdict review of the gag order “in the context of free speech and any continuing danger to the judicial process.”

“His decision to impose restrictions on Mr. Trump, as it related to reckless and unrelenting character attacks on court personnel, trial witnesses, and potentially jurors was extraordinary but clearly justified given the defendant’s uncontrollable daily rants,” Brewster said.

Following his conviction, Trump complained he was under a “nasty gag order,” while also testing its limits. In remarks a day after his conviction, Trump referred to Cohen as “a sleazebag,” though not by name.

In a subsequent Newsmax interview, Trump took issue with jury and its makeup, complaining about Manhattan, “It’s a very, very liberal democrat area so I knew we were in deep trouble,” and claiming: “I never saw a glimmer of a smile from the jury. No, this was a venue that was very unfair. A tiny fraction of the people are Republicans.”

Trump’s lawyers, who said they were under the impression the gag order would end with a verdict, wrote to Merchan on June 4 asking him to lift the order.

Prosecutors wanted Merchan to keep the gag order’s banon comments about jurors and trial staff “at least through the sentencing hearing and the resolution of any post-trial motions.” They argued the judge had “an obligation to protect the integrity of these proceedings and the fair administration of justice.”

Merchan issued Trump’s gag order on March 26, a few weeks before the start of the trial, after prosecutors raised concerns about the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s propensity to assail people involved in his cases.

Merchan later expanded it to prohibit comments about his own family after Trump made social media posts attacking the judge’s daughter, a Democratic political consultant.

During the trial, Merchan held Trump in contempt of court, fined him $10,000 for violating the gag order and threatened to put him in jail if he did it again.

In seeking to lift the order, Trump lawyers Todd Blanche and Emil Bove argued that Trump was entitled to “unrestrained campaign advocacy” in light of Biden’s public comments about the verdict, and Cohen and Daniels ′ continued public criticism.

On Monday night's episode of Timcast, host Tim Pool revealed that CNN, which is hosting the first presidential debate of the general election season on Thursday, has warned any YouTube channels that intend to live stream the debate while providing commentary for viewers that this would not be permitted under copyright. The debate will be hosted by Jake Tapper.

"Confirming that we are offering digital platforms the ability to stream the debate only via CNN YouTube," said a CNN spox to Pool in a message reviewed by The Post Millennial."We are not granting digital entities the right to stream the debate on their own YouTube channels. I hope that helps."

Pool also had a phone call with CNN, arranged by YouTube, which he discussed on air. He said that he'd received a message from YouTube last week "asking to hop on a phone call to discuss the RNC and the presidential cycle." During that call, which happened on Monday, he "briefly spoke with some individuals at YouTube… who made it clear that CNN reached out and is expressing concern, I don't know the full extent, but making it known that YouTube better contact their news programs over the CNN debate."

Pool and his team have previously streamed and commented on presidential debates in the past. After one debate, which had been broadcast on Fox, the network claimed that they had copyright protection for the content and made threats against several channels. Those threats were eventually dropped.

"Now of course, like all presidential debates," Pool continued, "which is the epitome of civic responsibility, of civic participation. We will provide live commentary and fact-checking on this presidential debate as we have done for every other so long as the show has been around.

"In a show of good faith," he said, "YouTube asked me to reach out to CNN to see if if there was anything they would be looking for in this regard. Because apparently they are asking other networks who are doing the exact same thing to abide by certain restrictions." Pool reached out, only to find that the network insisted that they would not allow anyone on YouTube, other than those who had been granted specific permission.

This was confirmed by Post Millennial reporter Sara Higdon, who will be attending the debate in Atlanta, and received an email from CNN prior to the debate concerning digital use. It reads:

"Streaming Use: CNN’s debates are exclusive to CNN and may not be streamed or streamed with verbal or digital commentary on any platform or social media site by another party, other than the embeddable YouTube player via the CNN YouTube channel."

"Podcast Use: Similar to broadcast rules, news organizations may use audio clips (up to 3:00 minutes at a time) on their shows after the debate conclude and must credit the 'CNN Presidential Debate' verbally in introducing the clip."

Press will not be permitted in the debate hall, per rules demanded by Joe Biden's campaign. Mics will be cut strictly at the end of two-minute time periods and there will be absolutely no audience. Press will be made to watch from a Spin Room, and while some selected photographers will be permitted to shoot in the debate hall, they "are required to remain stationary throughout the debate."

The network appears to believe that having been granted permission to host the presidential debate means that they are entitled to ownership of all the footage of that debate. They seem to feel that they are creators of the content instead of broadcasters of content that would exist in some form even if the network did not. Pool, however, will be a creator, a pundit, while streaming and commenting on the debate.

"CNN is now threatening any social channels that provide commentary on the debate," Pool posted, "stating they will not allow the use outside of CNN Commentary on a presidential debate is the epitome of fair use and we fully intend to provide insight and real time fact checking Thursday LIVE."

Pool had a response for CNN. "My response immediately was commentary on Presidential Debates is the epitome of fair use. Hope that helps," he told viewers.

"We have two people running for the president of this country," Pool said, "one of them the current president, and we're going to fact-check and we're going to comment and we are going to call them out in real time. If we can't do that, if no one else can, then that's strict, that's severely limiting civic participation.

"And it's allowing a biased network, that in the past has likened Trump to Hitler, to control who can and cannot fact check this man. And as we know it special rules for this debate.

They are seeking to control that narrative. And I believe that is exactly why they reached out to YouTube, and why YouTube reached out to me, because they don't want anyone to break their narrative. That's the dirty game. They're playing. It's going to be a fun Thursday."
