Not a matter of if they dope up the Potato, more a matter of when and how much.
If he comes out of the gate hot and screaming, then we know for certain.
The vultures always have a death-watch crew on the prez, and likely the Potato, too. You know they will have crews covering all the exits.
So not exactly an unheard-of request.
Unless the POTATO completely tanks and freezes, expect the following prepared "response" to the debates:
Joe was coherent and 'forceful.'
Joe gave better than he got.
Trump was disorganized and forgetful.
Joe was statesman-like.
Trump was angry and frustrated.
The debate will give Joe a huge jump in the polls.
Trump is done. Trump is a convicted felon. (they might even try to recycle Trump's jail comment to Hillary back on him)
Just like the fake polls, the fake and over-moderated debate has been decided in advance.

Doubt any of this fuckery speculation takes place, but if it did, I'd go with the scenario from the movie, "DAVE," where they have Potato fake a serious brain fart, and take him away, to justify invoking the 25th on him now, as opposed to 3 years ago.
