Tor and others are better than nothing and securing your IT will protect you from a lot of malware but you have to assume that no matter what you do, when you're online, you're being watched by someone somewhere. btw a lot of ideas/tech from WWII/Cold War spycraft is still effective especially since so many are focused on high tech. People tend to forget that some of the old stuff still works just fine. I would never buy a new car. I would buy an old classic that's been restored. Cheaper and no computer onboard.
