Trump’s ‘America First’ Economy Secures 10-Year Employment High for Manufacturing Workers

More American manufacturing workers are employed today than at any time in the last ten years as President Trump’s ‘America First’ economy seeks to protect U.S. industry and jobs with tariffs, less immigration, and tax relief.

In June 2018, Trump’s booming economy delivered an additional 36,000 manufacturing jobs for American workers, many of whom have had their livelihoods destroyed by job-killing free trade deals like NAFTA and KORUS.

Specifically, in the metals manufacturing industry, Trump’s tariffs on imported steel, aluminum, and Chinese electronics seems to have boosted U.S. job growth — with 7,000 new jobs in manufacturing fabricated metal products, 5,000 new jobs in manufacturing computer and electronic products, and 3,000 new jobs in manufacturing primary metals.

Additionally, 12,000 car and vehicle parts manufacturing jobs were created in June. In the past year, there have been 285,000 new manufacturing jobs added to the U.S. economy as Trump encourages and incentivizes companies to move production back to the country.

White House Official on Kathy Kraninger: ‘What the Bureau Needs Now Is an Effective Leader’

A senior White House official defended President Trump’s nomination of Kathy Kraninger, who has no experience in banking regulation or consumer finance regulation, to become director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) on Tuesday, telling Breitbart News, “What the bureau needs now is an effective leader.”

Breitbart News pressed the senior White House official in a conference call for journalists Tuesday morning on both Kraninger’s qualifications and reliability should she be confirmed.

“Why does the President believe that Kraninger, with absolutely no record or experience in banking regulation or consumer finance regulation, and with a history as financial contributor to both Jeb Bush and John Kasich, will support the Trump agenda at CFPB if confirmed to a five year term as director of an independent agency from which it will be virtually impossible to fire her should she abandon that agenda?” Breitbart News asked.

The senior White House official noted in response that Kraninger is a strong advocate of free markets and limited government with a history of service.

“She has been somebody who has been an effective leader,” the official said.

“What the bureau needs now is an effective leader,” the official added, noting that CFPB acting director Mick Mulvaney has put a good policy team in place at CFPB.

The senior White House official asserted that Kraninger “has a good background in financial services already.”

She is “somebody who can work with the scores of policy experts in the bureau and lead the bureau away from” its history of overreach, the official added.

California ‘Assault Weapons’ Regulation Could Disarm Active-Duty Soldiers

California’s method of registration required for “assault weapons” means soldiers deployed during the registration process were unable to enter their firearms into system.

As a result, those military personnel now run the risk of losing their firearms and could even face criminal charges for possessing unregistered weapons.

The NRA-ILA reports:

[The] CA DOJ’s chosen method of requiring all applications to be submitted online and include photographs of the firearms has prohibited many members of the military currently on deployment from registering. Because many members of the military were required to leave their personally owned firearms at home while on deployment, they were unable to obtain the required photographs for registration. And for those who somehow managed to obtain the required photographs, they were still faced with CA DOJ’s online registration system consistently crashing.

Asylum-Seeking Central American Discovered to Be MS-13 Gang Member

A migrant from Central America made a “credible fear” claim for asylum after being caught illegally crossing the border from Mexico by Border Patrol agents. During processing, the agents discovered the Honduran national is actually a member of MS-13.

Agents assigned to the Weslaco Station came across an illegal immigrant who crossed the Rio Grande River near Hidalgo, Texas, on July 5. The agents arrested the man who then made a “claim of fear of being deported back to his native country,” Rio Grande Sector Border Patrol officials said in a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas.

The agents transported the man to the Weslaco Station for processing. All illegal immigrants are put through a biometric background check to look for criminal history, gang membership, and previous deportations by immigration officers.

In this case, the agents learned the illegal immigrant from Honduras is actually a member of the violent transnational criminal gang known as MS-13.

While not referencing this case in particular, Border Patrol officials told Breitbart Texas that any immigrant who makes a credible fear claim has to be processed by an asylum officer with U.S. Customs and Immigration Services. The person making the claim is generally turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers for detention while the asylum claim is evaluated.

These claims do not exempt the migrant from prosecution for illegal entry, an official stated.

Officials said the MS-13 gang member arrested on July 5 had no history of prior deportation or crimes in the U.S. The background check only revealed the man’s membership with MS-13.
