There are two different arguments that you are confusing. To continue to pay a hegemony that doesn't represent you is one thing, as far as giving away your wealth and what we are combating here. But to understand a greater virtue of the identity function is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination and leads to a higher knowledge, few will ever find the door, and only a select intelligent few could ever walk through that door.
