U.N. Watch accused the Human Rights Council’s special rapporteur on the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, of “gross violations of U.N. rules and professional ethics” for being sponsored and supported by Hamas-tied lobbying groups for a 2023 trip to Australia and New Zealand.

Albanese is in charge of investigating “Israel’s violations of the bases and principles of international law” for the United Nations.

According to the complaint filed to U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres and High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türkwith, Albanese allegedly accepted honorariums and payments from activist and advocacy groups violating the U.N. code of conduct.

Albanese has a history of antisemitic, anti-Israel comments.

She has also claimed that Israel has no right of self-defense after the Hamas terrorists on October 7.

EU fines Hungary €200 million for flouting asylum laws

The EU’s top court on Thursday fined Hungary 200 million euros ($216 million) and imposed a daily one-million-euro penalty for failing to follow the bloc’s asylum laws and illegally deporting migrants, a decision Budapest slammed as “unacceptable”.

The fine and penalty were because Hungary “is deliberately evading” compliance with the European Union laws despite a 2020 ruling that it must uphold international procedures for asylum seekers, the European Court of Justice said.

“Since this failure to fulfil obligations constitutes an unprecedented and exceptionally serious breach of EU law, the Court orders Hungary to pay a lump sum of 200 million euros and a penalty payment of one million euros per day of delay,” it said in a statement.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is frequently at loggerheads with Brussels, immediately voiced outrage.

“The ECJ’s decision to fine Hungary with 200M euros plus 1M euros daily(!!!) for defending the borders of the European Union is outrageous and unacceptable,” the nationalist premier wrote on X.

“It seems that illegal migrants are more important to the Brussels bureaucrats than their own European citizens,” he added.

Rep. Roy files resolution calling on VP Harris to invoke 25th Amendment

WASHINGTON, DC — Representative Chip Roy (TX-21) filed a resolution calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to convene the Cabinet and declare President Joe Biden as unable to carry out his duties as Commander-in-Chief.

The 25th Amendment, ratified in 1967, sets up a process by which the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet can notify the president pro tempore of the Senate and the speaker of the House of Representatives that the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office, enabling the vice president to become acting president.

UN Says Israel’s Evacuation Order ‘Wiped Out’ Efforts To Distribute Aid

Twenty-eight Palestinians were reported killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza on Wednesday as Israel continues to bomb so-called 'safe zones'

Israel’s latest evacuation order for eastern Khan Younis has “wiped out” the UN’s efforts to improve aid deliveries via the Kerem Shalom border crossing in southern Gaza, the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Wednesday.

“We have been engineering a lot of solutions and trying and testing, improving and failing – at times – and now with this evacuation order, all this has been, again, wiped out,” Andrea De Domenico, head of the OCHA for the Palestinian territories, told reporters, according to Reuters.

Israel’s evacuation order impacted 250,000 Palestinians living in Khan Younis, and many had recently fled Israel’s assault on Rafah. One Palestinian family that fled Khan Younis to an Israeli-declared “safe zone” in Deir al-Balah was hit by an Israeli strike on Tuesday that killed 12 people, including five children and three women.

On Wednesday, Israel strikes continued to hit targets across the Gaza Strip. According to Al Jazeera, Gaza’s Health Ministry said at least 28 Palestinians were killed in the previous 24-hour period.

One of the strikes on Wednesday slammed into a residential building next to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, which is in the western part of the city that Israel claimed is a safe zone. A day earlier, patients and medical staff from the European Hospital in eastern Khan Younis fled to the Nasser Hospital.

De Domenico noted the bombings of the so-called “safe zones” and said Gaza was “the only place in the world where people cannot find a safe refuge, and can’t leave the front line.”

TIMING! The Day After Biden’s Disastrous Debate, DOJ Indicts Chinese Scientist Who Patented Immune Response Inhibitor Accelerating Cancer Growth, Entangled in COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, mRNA and Cancer

ANALYSIS: Wang’s arrest on unrelated felony charges for fraud represents the Intelligence Community’s designs to control a potentially compromised asset in broader COVID operations.

On the day following Joe Biden’s disastrous debate against Donald Trump, Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice announced the indictment of Hoau-Yan Wang issued by a federal grand jury in the District of Maryland. Two things immediately stand-out in the indictment: the indictment’s timing and Wang’s background.

DOJ states that,

According to court documents, Hoau-Yan Wang, 67, was a tenured medical professor at a public university’s medical school, as well as a paid advisor and consultant to a publicly traded Texas biopharmaceutical company. From approximately May 2015 through approximately April 2023, Wang allegedly engaged in a scheme to fabricate and falsify scientific data in grant applications made to the NIH on behalf of himself and the biopharmaceutical company. As alleged, the fraudulent grant applications to the NIH sought funding for scientific research of a potential treatment and diagnostic test for Alzheimer’s disease and resulted in the award of approximately $16 million in grants from approximately 2017 to 2021, part of which funded Wang’s laboratory work and salary.

US Department of Justice

DOJ goes on to say, “Wang is charged with one count of major fraud against the United States, two counts of wire fraud, and one count of false statements. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison for the count of major fraud, 20 years in prison for each count of wire fraud, and five years in prison for the count of false statements.”

On its face, there’s nothing awry with the indictment until you begin to peel back the layers of controversy that account for Wang’s background relative to the timing of the indictment.

TIMING

Timing is always an immediate point of examination with new developments and Wang’s indictment raises two red flags that compound in aggravating form.

The first red flag is the timing of a Friday release, which is customarily used for one of two reasons: 1-To feature the story and set the tone for the weekend news cycle heading into the new cycle on Monday or 2-To bury the story alongside substantially more important stories so that it is missed and gets lost.

In Wang’s case, it’s the latter, where DOJ decided to issue the press release immediately following the biggest story of 2024 according television ratings.

The timing is obviously problematic occurring on a Friday following the most consequential story of the year.

A report handed down into disgraced former Senior Sergeant Paul Reynolds has highlighted the way his standing in the community was used as a tool to groom more than 50 boys over three decades.

Report author Regina Weiss described Reynolds' conduct as the 'most prolific grooming' by one person she'd seen in nearly 20 years of work in the field.

After Senior Sergeant Paul Reynolds took his own life in 2018, hundreds of people lined Launceston's Elizabeth Street to pay their respects.

But the majority of the crowd didn't know he'd been using his standing in the community to groom more than 50 boys over three decades.

Former war crimes prosecutor Regina Weiss, the author of an independent review into Reynolds' conduct, said Reynolds perpetrated the "most prolific grooming" by one individual that she'd seen in nearly 20 years working on sexual and gender-based violence.

"He groomed his own colleagues, some of whom are devastated … they worked alongside someone and didn't see it."

The report paints a horrifying picture of how Reynolds used his position of respect in the football community and as a police officer again and again to earn and then betray the trust of young people and those who cared about them.

And, how he cast a spell on his fellow police officers to avoid detection.

Ms Weiss argues that understanding how Reynolds groomed victims is crucial to ensuring it doesn't happen again.

"If there's one key takeaway from this report and the report we've done it's that it's a community responsibility to look after our children," she said.

"It's the responsibility of parents and guardians and grandparents and bystanders to recognise what grooming looks like and to report it and to safeguard our children."
