(🧵) Pre-debate, Trump was up nationally in the Poll of Polls by 0.2%. After the debate, in part—not exclusively—because major media engaged in a historic, unprecedented campaign to force the end of Biden’s presidency, Trump’s lead increased to 2.5%. But now it’s narrowing again.
1/ If corporate media, lobbyists, big donors, and pants-wetting Democratic lawmakers force out the 14th-best POTUS in U.S. history—per nonpartisan historians—who is also a man almost all Democrats just voted for in the primaries, there will be bedlam in the Democratic Party.
2/ And that’s exactly what Republicans want. Democrats are—per usual—playing into the hands of their political opponents by refusing to be loyal to their leaders, adamant in their principles, and unafraid of concern trolling and gaslighting from scheming far-right Republicans.
3/ MAGA has been using Kamala Harris as a GOTV tool for years—meaning it knew years ago that latent racism and misogyny would be as powerful a tool for it in 2024 as it was against Clinton in 2016 and Obama ever since he entered politics.

10/ Americans’ distaste for Clinton was bizarre. There was something unspoken—insidious—about it. How do I know? Because I felt it too. I suffered from it. It took speaking to many women in my life to realize my mistake and publish a long essay endorsing Clinton during the DNC.
