Bombshell NYT Expose Details War Crimes By American-Led Volunteer Force In Ukraine

The last many weeks (or even months) of Ukraine coverage by mainstream media has seen a major shift. One might observe that Western reporters are actually starting to do their jobs for a change, and digging into to 'inconvenient' truths and stories which a year ago no outlet would have touched amid the general pro-Kyiv euphoria.

A military correspondent with The New York Times has issued the newest bombshell report this weekend which shines a spotlight on not just Ukrainian troops but American and foreign fighters who've volunteered with pro-Kyiv forces and have committed potential war crimes. The report, titled Killings of Surrendering Russians Divide an American-Led Unit, reveals how US troops are participating in units which conduct extra-judicial killings of Russians who have legitimately surrendered.

Much of the eyewitness accounts come from a German volunteer identified as Caspar Grosse, a medic in an all-foreign unit led by an American who says he witnessed clear war crimes and that his conscience has forced him to speak out.

He described how last August, a wounded, unarmed Russian soldier was seeking a peaceful surrender by crawling and calling out to Ukrainian front lines. Grosse relates to the Times that he "saw the soldier plead for medical attention in a mix of broken English and Russian. It was dusk. A team member looked for bandages." And then he was shocked to observe the following turn of events:

That is when, Mr. Grosse said, a fellow soldier hobbled over and fired his weapon into the Russian soldier’s torso. He slumped, still breathing. Another soldier fired — "just shot him in the head," Mr. Grosse recalled in an interview.

Mr. Grosse said he was so upset by the episode that he confronted his commander. He said he spoke to The New York Times after what he regarded as unwarranted killings continued.

The unit in question goes by the "Chosen Company" - widely considered the most reputable and well-known volunteer group of international troops. Grosse further verified this and other similar incidents in his journal, which he provided the Times.

But the outlet also had video evidence to go on which verified separate such killings. "In a second episode, a Chosen member lobbed a grenade at and killed a surrendering Russian soldier who had his hands raised, video footage reviewed by The Times shows," it documents. "The Ukrainian military released video of the episode to showcase its battlefield prowess, but it edited out the surrender." This means Ukraine's military censors and these volunteer units are literally editing out clear war crimes before releasing to the world what amounts to official propaganda.

BRICS to launch independent financial system – Moscow

Retired Marine 2-star general found dead at sprawling California base

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a retired major general whose body was discovered at a Marine base on Saturday.

Maj. Gen. William Mullen, age 59, was found deceased at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, the San Bernardino County coroner’s office confirmed.

His body was found in Building 1651, according to coroner records, Military.com reported. The building is home to the Marine Corps Communication–Electronics School, according to an online base directory.

The Marine Corps provided a statement to Marine Corps Times stating that Mullen was at the base attending the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group change of command ceremony.

The retired major general was once the commanding general of the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Center in Twentynine Palms, California, and retired from the Corps in 2020, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Marine Corps also confirmed to Marine Corps Times that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service was investigating the incident.

NCIS was unable to be reached for comment.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Department is handling the autopsy and results are pending, a spokeswoman confirmed.

As a commanding officer of the Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company, Mullen deployed to Operation Desert Shield and took part in counter-narcotics missions along with Joint Task Force-6, according to his official biography. He later deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit as a commanding officer of Fox Company and joined Operation Sea Signal, a 1994 military response to Cuban and Haitian refugees seeking asylum.

He deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, in 2005 as operations officer for Regimental Combat Team – 8. In 2007, he commanded 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines, also in Fallujah.

At the time of his retirement, Mullen was serving as the commanding general of Training and Education Command, based in Quantico, Virginia, according to the Corps.

Mullen’s “dedicated service to our nation and the Marine Corps will always be remembered,” Maj. Gen. Thomas Savage, the commanding general of the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command, said in a statement provided to Marine Corps Times by the Marine Corps.

Reached by phone on Friday, multiple members of Mullen’s family declined to comment to the media.

Former Space Force Officer Says ‘Separate Chain Of Command’ Enforces ‘Divisive Ideology’ In Military Academy

A former United States Space Force officer said Saturday morning that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is enforced by a “separate chain of command” at the Air Force Academy.

Former Space Force Lieutenant Colonel Matt Lohmeier, who was relieved of command after he spoke out against DEI initiatives in the military in 2021 and says he lost his pension, told guest host Joey Jones on “Fox and Friends Saturday” that the academy “has diversity and inclusion cadet officers” who “report to a separate chain of command.” Jones had referred to an Arizona State University study that found service academies encourage reporting “private conversations that challenge DEI precepts,” asking Lohmeier if he had similar experiences.

“In fact, come to think of it, I did experience that. A fellow commander informed me that they’re aware of my kind of politics and that they’d be happy to turn me into the base commander if I continued to privately criticize our diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives,” he said. “But this problem has grown far beyond what I experienced, personally and professionally in the military workplace.”

“My own alma mater, the U.S. Air Force Academy, has diversity and inclusion cadet officers who wear a special insignia within their cadet squadrons, they wear purple braided rope over the shoulders and they report to a separate chain of command other than their military chain of command, relating to diversity and inclusion issues,” he continued. “It reminds one of Soviet political commissars that have been established both in the Soviet Union and in other Marxist revolutionary efforts throughout the last century.”

Britain’s new top diplomat, David Lammy, was dispatched to Europe on Sunday to “reset ties” with the European Union as the left-wing Labour Party government of Sir Keir Starmer seeks to forge closer alignment with Brussels.

Starmer and his anti-Brexit government have claimed that it will not seek to reverse the will of the British people to withdraw from the European Union, however, seeking closer ties with the EU appears to be at the top of the agenda for the leftist government.

In his first diplomatic overture to the bloc, Starmer sent his new Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, to visit with his counterparts in Berlin, Stockholm, and Warsaw.

Lammy, who infamously compared Brexiteers to Nazis, wrote in the European news site The Local: “As the new British Foreign Secretary, with our Prime Minister Keir Starmer, this government will reset relations with Europe as a reliable partner, a dependable ally and a good neighbour… let us seize the opportunity for a reset, working even more closely together to tackle shared challenges.”

Quashing any doubts that the party of the Iraq War would scale back on military interventionism, the Labour Party diplomat said that Britain would continue to “stand by the brave people of Ukraine, as they defend their freedom against Vladimir Putin’s new form of fascism.”

Cabinet slashes health, welfare and education to fund aid to displaced residents

Wide-ranging cuts come only days after Knesset allocates hundreds of millions of shekels in ‘surplus’ coalition funds to government ministries deemed superfluous by treasury

Despite some ministers’ objections, the cabinet on Sunday approved a half-billion shekel ($135 million) budget cut across the government, in order to redirect funds toward aid for displaced residents of the north and south.

The sharp reduction in spending on healthcare, welfare, and other issues came less than a week after the Knesset Finance Committee allocated hundreds of millions of shekels in “surplus” coalition funds to government ministries — including several ministries deemed superfluous by the Finance Ministry.

Surplus funds are money allocated, but not spent, as part of the previous year’s budget, while coalition funds are monies doled out to fulfill political promises made when wrangling to form a coalition government.

The Prime Minister’s Office did not directly detail the new round of cuts in its post-meeting press release on Sunday, instead touting the extension of government aid to residents of southern communities within a range of 7 kilometers (4 miles) of the Gaza Strip and 5 kilometers (3 miles) from Lebanon.

“The government, today approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to extend the evacuation and respite for residents of southern communities located within 0-7 kilometers of the Gaza Strip border, and residents of northern communities located within 0-5 kilometers of the Lebanese border, until August 31, 2024,” the government announced.

'UK has fallen': Antisemitic conspiracies theories on Starmer's wife, Jewish world control spread

Antisemites pointed to the Jewish faith of Victoria Starmer, the prime minister's wife, as evidence of a Jewish conspiracy controlling the world through access to world leaders.

Following Labour’s victory in the UK general election on Thursday, antisemitic conspiracy theories about new Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s wife began to spread online.

Antisemites pointed to the Jewish faith of Victoria Starmer as evidence of a theory of broader conspiracy of Jews controlling the world through access to world leaders.

Pro-Assad commentator Maram Susli, also known as Syrian Girl online, claimed that Starmer’s marriage was one of many that were part of “an Israel infiltration agenda” and that it was “not antisemitic to notice.”

“Britain’s new leader Keir Starmer is married to a Jewish woman. [US Vice President] Kamala Harris is married to a Jewish man. [US President Joe] Biden’s son is married to a Jewish woman. [Former US president] Donald Trump’s daughter is married to a Jewish man. [Former US secretary of state] Hillary Clinton’s daughter is married to a Jewish man. Just how many Jews are there in the world? I don’t believe when they say it’s been 15 million since the 1950s,” Susli told her over 400,000 X followers on a Friday in response to a Jerusalem Post article on Victoria Starmer.

“All of these individuals are Zionists. [Trump's son-in-law] Jared Kushner is literally in bed with [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu.”

'Israel taking control'

The Megatron social media account said on Friday that Israel was taking control of the UK and was seeking to put other European countries in its power.

“The entire political elite in the United States is controlled by Israel. Mexican President[-elect Claudia] Sheinbaum [Pardo] is Jewish. The Argentine President [Javier] Milei spit out his Christian faith and became a Jew. Antisemitic influencer Dr. Anastasia Maria Loupis, who has over a million followers on X, said on Friday that Jews won the UK election, and shared a picture of Starmer wearing a kippah, declaring the “UK has fallen.”

Smaller social media accounts proliferated the conspiracies on X and other platforms.

Victoria Starmer comes from a North London Jewish family. Her father is of Polish-Jewish descent and her mother a convert. While Starmer is an atheist, his family is part of the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St. John’s Wood, London, and has said that his teenage children have been learning about their heritage.

The new UK leader has previously related that his family keeps some Shabbat traditions such as performing kiddush and having challah, and told Virgin Radio last Monday that he had long reserved Friday evening for time with his family. The statement had led to attacks by the Conservative Party, which alleged that Starmer would finish work everyday at 6 p.m. and would be a “part-time prime minister.”

As part of the Labour campaign, it was emphasized by supporters that Starmer had purged the movement of the antisemitism that plagued it during former leader Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.
