The United States sent Israel $3.8 billion in military aid every year before the Gaza war broke out in October 2023. Since then, Washington has shipped billions more in arms and ammunition.

President Joe Biden claimed that if Israel invaded Rafah, the Gazan city where approximately a million Palestinian civilians were concentrated, it would cross a red line and he would stop supporting Tel Aviv. The US president lied, however, and approved another $1 billion in arms and ammo after Israel attacked Rafah.

The US provides 65.6% of weapons exports to Israel, followed by Germany at 29.7% and Italy at 4.7%.

Columbia University removed three deans from their positions after they were caught sending text messages that touched on “antisemitic tropes” during a campus event on Jewish life.

The university placed Susan Chang-Kim, former vice dean and chief administrative officer, Matthew Patashnick, former associate dean for student and family support, and Cristen Kromm, former dean of undergraduate student life, on leave in June after they exchanged dismissive text messages about the “Jewish Life on Campus: Past, Present, and Future” panel. The three are on indefinite leave and will not return to their previous jobs, according to a Monday message to the campus community.

“This incident revealed behavior and sentiments that were not only unprofessional, but also, disturbingly touched on ancient antisemitic tropes. Whether intended as such or not, these sentiments are unacceptable and deeply upsetting, conveying a lack of seriousness about the concerns and the experiences of members of our Jewish community that is antithetical to our University’s values and the standards we must uphold in our community,” University President Minouche Shafik wrote.

The university will launch a “vigorous program of antisemitism and antidiscrimination program” for faculty and staff beginning in the fall, according to the community message.

The panel discussion featured Brian Cohen, executive director of Columbia/Barnard Hillel, and David Schizer, former law school dean and a member of the university’s antisemitism task force, according to the NYT. Patashnick wrote that one panelist was taking “full advantage of this moment” and that it had “huge fundraising potential,” while Kromm used vomit emojis to refer to an op-ed by campus rabbi Yonah Hain, The Washington Free Beacon reported.

The official spokesman of the Lyon Antifa collective “Jeune Garde Antifasciste (Young Antifascist Guard) in Lyon, Raphaël Arnault will represent the first constituency of Vaucluse in Provence in the French parliament after beating out populist National Rally candidate Catherine Jaouen with 54.98 per cent of the vote in Sunday’s second round of legislative elections, Le Figaro reports.

Arnault’s candidacy, which was backed by far-left Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s La France Insoumise (LFI) party — a member of the New Popular Front alliance — sparked controversy after it was revealed that the Antifa radical had an “S-file”, meaning that he is on the French government’s national security watchlist.

The list typically catalogues people who pose a threat to the safety of the state such as terrorists, however, it also includes violent environmentalists or members of extremist political groups, such as the Antifa group to which Arnault belongs.

Because having an S-file does not equate to a criminal conviction — or even necessarily state surveillance — it means that there are no restrictions on Arnault entering the National Assembly.

Israel says Doctors Without Borders staffers are terrorists who deserve to be killed

A medic of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, was killed in a recent airstrike in Gaza. Amid the public backlash, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that the MSF staff was a "terrorist" working for Palestinian Islamic Jihad so he deserved what happened to him.

In fact, the IDF has released photos claiming to be proof that Fadi al-Wadiya, who was killed in an airstrike on Tuesday, was a "significant operative" in the Islamic Jihad group in Gaza.

Fadi Al-Wadiya served as an operative for the militant group for more than 15 years and helped build rockets used against Israeli cities, IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee said. He added that Al-Wadiya was the armed group's "expert in the fields of electronics and chemistry."

"A physiotherapist by day, a jihad operative by night," Adraee said, arguing that the case is "a reminder of how terrorist organizations in Gaza use international aid organizations as a human shield."

MSF has already rejected the claims, saying Al-Wadiya was killed when riding a bicycle to the clinic where he worked. "Killing a healthcare worker while on his way to provide vital medical care to wounded victims of the endless massacres across Gaza is beyond shocking; it is cynical and abhorrent," said Caroline Seguin, MSF operations manager for Palestine.

"Fadi was executed by an Israeli strike and no proof of any wrongdoing on his part has been shared with MSF. Only an independent investigation will be able to establish the facts," the aid group's statement also included when it was released on Wednesday. The organization said five other people, including three children, were killed by the same airstrike. Al-Wadiya was the sixth member of MSF and one of more than 500 health workers killed by the Israeli forces since the fighting erupted in Gaza eight months ago, the organization said.

Back in February, Israel already attacked a shelter belonging to MSF in the Gaza Strip, killing at least two people. "Tonight Israeli forces conducted an operation in Al Mawasi, Khan Younis, Gaza, where a shelter hosting MSF staff and their families was shelled," MSF posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"While details are still emerging, ambulance crews have now reached the site, where at least two family members of our colleagues have been killed and six people wounded. We are horrified by what has taken place," it added.

French-Israelis are telling French Jews to migrate to Israel after the tumultuous elections this weekend, which put a coalition of far-Left antisemitic parties and Muslims in control of France.

French-Israelis are bluntly arguing that Jews are safer in Israel during a war than they will be if they remain in France for much longer.

The National on Sunday talked to some French Jews who flew home to France to cast their ballots in the snap election called by President Emmanuel Macron. Some thought this election could be a last-ditch effort to hold the antisemitic open-borders Left at bay – a forlorn hope, as things turned out – while others said it was time for Jews to get out of France:

Dan said he would be voting for the far right, something that would have been unthinkable not so long ago, having been established by openly antisemitic politicians.

Despite the far right’s history, Dan was certain about his choice. “There is an urgent need to stop the far left, which has allied itself with radical Muslims – if we don’t stop it France will become even more dangerous for Jews,” he said.

Other Israelis have given up on France entirely and are calling for all French Jews to migrate to Israel, despite the country being in the middle of a war with Hamas in Gaza and possibly facing another more devastating one with Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

Israeli politician Sharren Haskel, who grew up in France, has become a leading voice in urging her fellow French Jews to seek safety in Israel. Haskel said last week that the October 7 atrocity should have been a “wake-up call for every French citizen,” because it unleashed a long-simmering fusion of left-wing antisemitism and radical Islamism across the Western world.

“Antisemitism in France has been on the rise for a long time. Since October 7, it has become intolerable and the government in France is ignoring and allowing the spread of blood libels against Israel. As a result the Jewish community is suffering from violence, rape, murder,” Haskel said after her grandmother in France was assaulted by two Arab men.

“She was on her way for a blood test when two Muslim men attacked her from behind, pulled her to the ground, kicked her and broke her teeth. They then spat on her, called her a dirty Jew and ran away,” Haskel told The National on Sunday.

“This is an international issue; Jews have to hide their identity so that they are not attacked,” she said.

“I call on all western Jews to come to Israel, from France to the U.S. They should come to their cultural, ancestral and historic homeland. We will not be at the mercy of any hostile people or government. The world has become a dangerous place for Jews, who can no longer worship freely, walk freely and whose businesses are being attacked across the globe,” she warned.

The same call was issued by Avigdor Liberman, former deputy prime minister of Israel and head of the conservative Yisrael Beytenu party.

“I call on the French Jews to leave France and immigrate to the State of Israel. No time,” Liberman said on Sunday.

Gaza: Thousands of Dead Bodies Still Missing Under the Rubble, with No International Action

More than 10,000 Palestinian men and women are missing under the rubble in the Gaza Strip, with no way to recover them or properly bury their remains, in a blatant violation of international law amid total international inaction to assist in their retrieval.

Recovering the bodies of the victims of Israel’s nearly ten months of deadly and destructive military attacks on civilians will be extremely difficult, given the lack of heavy machinery and equipment for civil defense crews and the difficulty of their work. Furthermore, the Israeli army has deliberately and methodically targetedand destroyed this machinery and equipment, while preventing any replacement equipment entry to the Gaza Strip.

In addition to intentionally using weapons with enormous destructive power that leave tons of rubble that impede the removal and recovery of bodies from underneath, Israel has a pattern of systematic operations to prevent and obstruct the recovery of victims and missing persons from under the rubble, as documented by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor. These operations include targeting civil defense crews, rescue teams, and families trying to recover the bodies of victims, as well as preventing the entry of fuel necessary to operate what remains of the heavy machinery and preventing the entry of equipment.

Mrs. Maryam Imad, 19, informed the Euro-Med Monitor team that on 7 December 2023, two of her family’s homes in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, were bombed by Israeli warplanes. Among the 36 people who were inside were her parents, two of her brothers, one of whom was a child, and her grandfather, her uncles, their wives, and their children.

She added:

“After more than 42 days without hearing anything, we eventually discovered that the Israeli bombing had killed every single person who was buried beneath the debris. In early April of last year, I, the sole survivor of my family, tried with my two uncles to retrieve the bodies, but we were unable to extricate any of them.

“Then the Civil Defense arrived the following day and managed to retrieve a few bodies, while the remainder were buried beneath the debris. We have not been able to bury them yet because we do not have the necessary equipment, and we still demand their recovery even though I realize they have decomposed over the course of several months. We want to bury their remains properly,” she said.

According to Wissam Al-Sakani’s report to the Euro-Med Monitor team, on 22 November 2023 Israeli warplanes bombed his family’s home, which consisted of five flats in the northern Gaza Strip’s Beit Lahia area. The incident resulted in the deaths of approximately 45 people, including two of his children.

Al-Sakani said that despite weeks of efforts to extricate the victims, fifteen of them remain beneath the debris, and their recuperation is being hampered by the massive amount of debris, the lack of equipment, and the frequent bombing of the area.

Our support is condemned by much of the world, especially by the Global South who see Israel as a rogue colonial settler country. The only credible reason for our support for Israel is the power of the Israeli lobby in the United States.

While it is true that many illegitimate Arab rulers see the Palestinian conflict and Palestinians as irritants and a danger to their rule, Arabs and two billion Muslims in the world are overwhelming supporters of the Palestinian stipulation for their own viable country.
