An East Boston man is facing more than a half-dozen charges in connection with an explosion over the weekend inside his apartment
Tomas Mikula, 28, was charged with various charges relating to explosions
Mikula had no known links to terrorism but guns and rifles were found in his home along with PVC tubing and chemicals
Two handguns and over 100 rounds of live ammunition were also found
He is currently recovering in hospital after suffering serious burns
In 2009, Mikula pleaded guilty to charges of identity fraud and larceny and received a two-year sentence, prosecutors said. Mikula was also convicted of a firearm charge in 2009 and several theft-related crimes between 2011 and 2014.
