I watch people for a living. If the only thing you're going by is that their reaction in the background is unrealistic. let me tell you, you're wrong. everyone's reaction was completely realistic. This isn't a movie where people scatter like flies as soon as there's a noise. most people freeze like a deer in the headlights until their higher brain functions kick back in. takes a few seconds.
I'm no crime scene analyst… but I was an EMT once upon a time… Just cause some blood is dry and some is wet doesn't mean its from different times. Much more about ambient temperature, volume of liquid, and exposure to air.
There's just so many variables which we don't know with this. The simplest answer is usually correct. and "it was staged" is perhaps the most complex option. More likely a combination of time, sunlight, position, and rolling the dude over out of his own puddle.
