The USSS failed miserably yesterday. If the threat actor was just 5% (or less) more capable, today would be completely different. They were bested by a 20 year old untrained inbred.
If local LE truly did not have weapons free to render safe an immediately identified threat, there's a bigger conspiracy at play (which many here already rightfully believe).

i'm not opposed to fully qualified and trained female USSS agent serving on a high profile detail. You just can't have eight of them.

Expect another spike in weapon/ammo sales.
Any LE, at any level, has an absolute duty, responsibility, and authority to discharge their weapon to neutralize a threat and save lives. Nobody has the authority to "stand down" and remove that responsibility and duty.
This is not a "only fire if fired upon" environment found in foreign combat.
