Even if true I still can't figure out why both these guys come up off their scopes and reposition their bodies.

Certainly plausible. With comms there would be no reason for both guys to come off the scope. Neither one of them look they were in a proper body position either as they both adjusted mid-event which clearly puts both rifles off target.
Not criticizing, just pointing out what I saw that seems odd.
