Why is this even a controversy?
You think blood only flows when a person is alive and then it miraculously stops when the heart does?
Blood is under pressure. Once there is an opening it flows out. Even when the pressure is lessened, the hole is still there. There is nothing keeping the blood in the body so it will continue to leak out, but at a slower rate.
The early blood would be the brown dried blood. The red blood is just getting out of the body and has not been outside long enough to dry out. Hence the red instead of brown.
