GOP megadonor says funds for Trump hinge on who gets picked for vice president

(Trump will reject his threats and money, Griffin has been trying to take him down for years, and he either wants DeSantis or Haley and no American will allow that.)

ByElaine Mallon July 15, 2024 11:18 am

.

Multibillionaire Ken Griffin said he is waiting to see who Donald Trump chooses as his vice president before making any donations to the former president’s campaign. (Trump should tell Griffin his companies will get no Government contracts! Two can play at that game.)

Griffin is one of the biggest donors in the country’s history, having donated $233 million to federal elections. He donated $5 million to Nikki Haley’s allied super PAC this campaign cycle, and in 2016, he donated money to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’s presidential run. Rubio has been floated around as a name on Trump’s short list for vice president. (He gave a ton to DeSantis too)

Since May, Griffin has stated that he wouldn’t be donating any money to Trump until he knew who his pick for vice president would be.

Trump is reportedly prepared to announce his vice presidential pick on Monday at the start of the Republican National Convention. For months, media outlets have been speculating who would clinch the coveted position.

While Griffin is continuing to withhold funds for Trump, he expressed his sympathies for Trump and the family members of Corey Comperatore, the man killed on Saturday.

“Our society and democracy have no place for political violence, and we must condemn it in no uncertain terms,” Griffin said in a statement. “As Americans, we are fortunate to have the right to peacefully resolve our political differences by casting our votes.” (Fuck Griffin, you really don’t care.)

Trump Media shares soar more than 30% after assassination attempt

PUBLISHED MON, JUL 15 20245:51 AM EDTUPDATED 2 HOURS AGO

–Trump Media shares soared more than 30% Monday, two days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

–Analysts suggested the assassination attempt could make a Trump victory in the November election more likely.

–Trump Media, the parent company of social media platform Truth Social, has seen volatile trading throughout the election race.

Trump Media shares soared more than 30% Monday, two days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, the company’s majority shareholder.

Early volume in DJT shares was extremely heavy, with more than 17 million shares in the Truth Social app owner changing hands before 10 a.m. ET.

Trump, who is set to be formally nominated as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate this week, said he was grazed by a bullet and treated at a local hospital in Pennsylvania on Saturday but was released late Saturday after the shooting.

Shares in Trump Media were 50% higher in premarket trading at 6:29 a.m. ET, off earlier highs.

Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes offered his “deepest sympathies” to those who were wounded in the attack in Pennsylvania and to the family of the person killed at the event.

“The situation demands a fast, thorough federal investigation to determine all the circumstances of this cowardly attack and to identify if any additional persons were involved,” Nunes said in a Saturday statement.

“I also call for the federal government to provide any security resources requested by President Trump to guarantee his safety,” he added.

Analysts suggested the assassination attempt could make a Trump victory in the November election more likely.

“The events on Saturday, if they do anything, they strengthen the case for President Donald Trump to win the election in November. I think that’s what the markets have reacted to this evening,” Rob Casey, partner at Signum Global Advisors told CNBC’s “Squawk Box Europe” on Monday.

Judge Dismisses Classified Documents Case Against Trump

(NYTs is shocked, shocked I say, kekThe talking heads are mad as hell today)

Judge Aileen Cannon ruled that the entire case should be thrown out because the appointment of the special counsel who brought the case, Jack Smith, had violated the Constitution. Her decision is sure to be appealed.

By Alan Feuer July 15, 2024, 10:05 a.m. ET

A federal judgedismissed in its entirety the classified documents case against former President Donald J. Trump on Monday, ruling that the appointment of the special counsel, Jack Smith, had violated the Constitution.

In a stunning ruling, the judge, Aileen M. Cannon, found that because Mr. Smith had not been named to the post of special counsel by the president or confirmed by the Senate, his appointment was in violation of the appointments clause of the Constitution.

The ruling by Judge Cannon, who was put on the bench by Mr. Trump, flew in the faceof previous court decisions reaching back to the Watergate era that upheld the legality of the ways in which independent prosecutors have been named(LIE). And in a single swoop, it removed a major legal threat against Mr. Trump on the first day of the Republican National Convention, where he is set to formally become the party’s nominee for president.

Mr. Smith’s team will almost certainly appeal the ruling by Judge Cannon throwing out the classified documents indictment, which charges Mr. Trump with illegally holding onto a trove of highly sensitive state secrets after he left office and then obstructing the government’s repeated efforts to retrieve them. (LIE again, he has a right to them due to the “Presidential Records Act”, there must be a lot of idiots that read the NYTs)

This is the NYTs short article, tomorrow it will be 8-9 pages long, they haven't finished complaining that they were not able to get a DS judge on every court with Trump.

‘Squad’ under siege as Rep. Cori Bush trails Democratic challenger by 23 percentage points: poll

Carl Campanile Published July 14, 2024, 6:14 p.m. ET

Another member of the left-leaning “Squad” in Congress is on the ropes — facing a 23 percentage-point deficit and possibly headed for defeat, a new poll claims.Rep. Cori Bush trails St. Louis prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell 56% to 33%in the Aug. 6 Democratic primary for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District, according to the survey conducted by McLaughlin & Associates for the CCA Action Fund.

The remaining 11% were undecided or backed lesser-known candidates Ron Harshaw and Maria Chappelle-Nadal.

It’s the latest troubling sign for the liberal “Squad” after New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman was soundly defeatedby moderate Westchester County Executive George Latimer in a June 25 Democratic primary in the 16th District stretching from Co-Op City in the Bronx to the leafy suburbs of Westchester County.

Bowman was the first member of the Squad — which includes Bronx/Queens Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — to be defeated in a party primary. As in the Bowman-Latimer race, the Israel-Hamas war has figured prominently and brought out the contrasts between the candidates for the Missouri seat.

Like Bowman,Bush has been a staunch critic of Israel’s war tactics against Hamas in Gaza.

Bell said he supports Israel’s right to defend itself and target the Hamas militia for its sneak Oct. 7, 2023, attack against the Jewish state. Pro-Israel Democrats are backing Bell.

“Cori Bush has wasted her time in Congress to focus on her own fame in ‘The Squad’ — while her constituents suffer,” said Pastor Marc Little, spokesman for the anti-Bush CCA Action Fund, a super PAC. “This poll proves St. Louis wants a representative who will champion our community and its prosperity and safety, and who will defend America — not a Cori Bush who wants to tear it all down.”

Two-term incumbent Bush is viewed favorably by 50% of registered Democrats and unfavorably by 47%, the survey found. Some 51% of Democrats disapprove of her job performancewhile only 46% approve.

By comparison,Bell is viewed favorably by 70% of respondents and unfavorably by just 18%. The high negative ratings of her tenure among fellow Democrats is a problem for Bush, the pollsters said.

The survey of 300 likely Democratic voters was conducted between June 28 and July 1, via telephone interviews and texting. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.7 percentage points.

A survey conducted late last month found a tight race, with Bell leading Bush by just one point — 43% to 42%, within the margin of error. That poll was conducted by the Mellman Group for the group the Democratic Majority for Israel.

That poll too found Bell to be more popular and having a higher job performance rating than Bush. The Mellman Group accurately predicted in April that Latimer would trounce Bowman by double digits.

As in the Bowman-Latimer race, theAmerican Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Democratic Majority for Israel are spending money to try to elect Bell and oust Bush.AIPAC’s super PAC, the United Democracy Project, has already spent $4.2 million, according to AdImpact Politics. (The squad turned on the wrong race)

As with Bowman, Bush has personal baggage.
