Then patriots should hound the NY Post, and the two reporters whose names are on the story, for an explanation as to why their early reporting was that the shooter was Chinese. Because that is a very big deal. And there is no way that they did realize this when then they published it.

Trust your own senses and then use what you believe to be reliable information. But have good reasons for believing their reliability. Use discernment.
Any time you think you might be lost it is always good practice to go back to the beginning. Think in terms of the passage of time. And remember, that in the very first minutes of an event like this, no one has much of a handle on anything. Control over the narrative only increases over time. So the truth is often likely to be most visible in the very earliest moments. And remember Occam's razor. It doesn't always apply. But many times it does. Build your model and test it. Then build competing models and test them against each other. Bring your best model forward. Be prepared to defend your thinking against attacks. Chances are that if you have a pretty valid model then one of two things will happen. You will either be attacked from all sides at once. Or completley ignored. It's entirely a judgement call on the part of the part of opposition as to which they choose to do. But here is what's key. If your model gets ignored. Don't freak out and start rapid fire posting it over and over. Just wait and post it again in a later bread. Don't look spammy. That part is very important for reasons that must be all too obvious.
