I've known about Thiel's Palantir forever and never put 2 and 2 together, that it was the Palantir stones from LotR. The only three people who "owned" those stones in the books were villains, Sauron, Denethor, and Saruman. Which one is Thiel?

They are always claiming to hide sources and methods. In this case, it might be true. For instance, they could be asked, "Why didn't our super duper gun sniffer technology not alert the automatic evacuation protocols?"

And Wray could be like, "Well, our super duper gun sniffer has always had problems detecting firearms that are in the proximity of slopes and ladders." And then every bad guy in the world would know, America's weakness.

I'm being a bit facetious, but I'm sure they can talk more openly about their methods like body doubles, what conditions they put a bullet proof vest on Trump, and all that shit wouldn't want assassins to know about in a closed-door meeting than they could in a public one.
