3/12 is standard in metal buildings.
I’ve mentioned this before
9’ is minimum side height. The ladder that was put there ahead of time is maybe 10’ maybe 12’. This is given so the headers can clear for taller garage doors. 9x8/9/10/11 so on.
The pitch is 3/12. To a longer pitch you need more height.
