I'm tempted to say 'why do you call me good . . . only God is good' but I understand what you mean.

My point is that people ridicule those who say 'God did this for me' so I tend to say 'don't say that'

but it's fine. I'd tell you things that God did for me if I were talking about that with you in person and the subject got there.
