SPRINGFIELD, Ill. "The family of an Illinois woman shot and killed by police is holding a news conference Thursday and is expected to view the body camera video from the shooting. Sonya Massey was fatally shot by Sangamon County sheriff's deputies in her home on July 6. Her family has now retained civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who has also represented the family of Earl Moore Jr. and George Floyd. Crump is also pushing for the body camera footage to be released to the public. Sangamon County officials said the deputies involved are on administrative leave at this time.

Police still have not confirmed whether or not Massey made the initial 911 call that led deputies to respond to the neighborhood."
