I remember seeing Gerald Ford after the assassination attempts by Squeaky Fromme & Sarah Jane Moore. Ford was was totally shaken up to the point where he seemed barely functional–not someone to be trusted to react well in a crisis. Compare to Trump who reacted quickly and defiantly.

BTW I found very few reaction photos (and no good video) of Ford post attempts on the Internet. The less flattering ones likely never were posted anywhere.
