Saw this poem and thought I would give it a shot.
Heed the warning of men long past,
Who fought for liberty and held on fast,
From tyrannys lap they escaped,
From a continent so soundly raped,
By the rapaciousness of greed gone wild,
Unheeding rulers, tyranny's child.
The past is full of despotic decay,
It's deeds in history on full display,
Rising from the depths of hell,
It weaves its lies and casts it's spell,
Upon those who fail to heed the warning,
Of tyranny's rise upon the horizon storming.
Good men do that which they must,
To save the people and keep the trust,
Informed people are best equipped,
Of preserving freedom once it has slipped,
The freedom born in Independence Hall,
Shouts, "Where we go one, we go all."
