Man killed at Trump Pennsylvania rally was long-time plastics industry worker

Corey Comperatore, 50, has worked at JSP Corp., in Butler, Pa., since 1995.
The man who was shot and killed during the assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump in Butler, Pa., was a near 30-year plastics industry veteran.
Corey Comperatore, 50, who was slain on July 13 while shielding his wife and daughter from shots fired by the would-be assassin, has been working at plastics company JSP Corp., which is headquartered in Butler, for the past 29 years.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he began as a shift supervisor in 1995 before becoming maintenance supervisor in 2001, and then project and tooling engineer beginning in 2019.
Comperatore was also a former volunteer fire chief from the area.
JSP Corp. is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co., and makes plastic products for the automotive, construction, civil engineering, and packaging markets.
