FPV operators have targeted a minibus and first responders in Donbass, footage shows
Ukrainian troops have attacked Russian firefighters in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) with an FPV drone, the local Emergencies Ministry said on Saturday, sharing footage of the incident.
The fire crew was responding to a drone attack on a civilian minibus, only to be targeted by the same Ukrainian FPV crew as well. Footage of the strikes was apparently posted online originally by the Ukrainian forces.
The minibus was disabled in the attack and caught fire. It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured inside the vehicle. The fire crew escaped the strike unharmed.
“Realizing their setbacks at the front line, the Ukrainian Armed Forces deliberately hit the rescuers and post their ‘victories’ on the internet. Here it is – yet another piece of evidence for the International Court of Justice, proving the inhumanity and criminality of their intentions,” the Emergencies Ministry said in a statement.
Double-tap attacks, when a location is targeted twice within a short period of time to inflict damage on first responders as well, have been conducted frequently by Kiev’s forces since the early stages of the conflict in the former Ukrainian Donbass.
In recent months, the Ukrainian military has repeatedly used drones and copters armed with bomblets to attack random civilian vehicles near the front line in Donbass and other Russian border regions, primarily Belgorod and Kursk.
