game theory

sometimes in poker you hit a lucky streak and take many many chips

it took me some exp to realize when that happens you become the target of all the players

when you are down or avg, Players leave you alone

large stacks in front changes the way others play against you

brave Players will play braver and scared players will run sooner

i member being on the other side, playing braver cuz i felt like i was the best at the table; others were drinking, others were rookies, and it was late late so all were sleepy

i was on my 3rd and final buy-in but the stacks around the table were too much not to final try

i was nervous but confident; i bluffed nicely and showed'em my cards, i bet huge on the river so they couldn't see my best cards

soon i had my 2nd buy-in back working Quickly toward my 1st buy-in when i caught an Ace-high flush w no pairs on board (that means i had the nuts, an unbeatable hand)

all that bluffing and showing had my opponent wondering if he should throw his hand away

he looked at me for an answer but i jus smiled like i was bluffing

other players were complaining how long it was taking but the bet was huge enough for the Dealer to ignore the whining players

i read in an old book that if your opponent is stuck on a decision and you want him to call but he is about to fold do anything right b4 he folds, sneeze, cough, knock over your chips, anything to make him re-think his decision

the odds of this working is low but it costs you nothing

that night it cost his whole stack after i knocked over my chips w a strange cough/sneeze and he went from thinking fold to calling

i been trying that trick since i read it and it never worked until that night kek

anyways, keep in mind things change when you take the lead

thank you Anons
