Yemeni Houthis Struck Tel Aviv with Iran-Made Drone. AIPAC Says “America Must Have Israel’s Back”
An Iranian-made drone sent by Yemen’s Houthi rebels struck Tel Aviv in the early hours of Friday, July 19, killing one person and wounding at least 10. The Houthis said they launched the attack in response to Israel’s war on Palestinians in Gaza. The hit in Israel’s biggest city was startling because the drone appeared to have crossed through Israel’s air defence system. Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant, vowed to “settle the score.”
Shortly thereafter, Israel responded with airstrikes that rocked the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, striking a refinery and electricity infrastructure, igniting a huge blaze, one day after Israeli officials vowed revenge. Three people were killed.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Israeli lobby organization, tweeted, “America must have Israel’s back.” US Representative Thomas Massie recently exposed AIPAC as having profound influence over Congress and American policy.
