My oldest son was born in 1999. I suppose that makes him a millennial. He went into the USMC reserves right out of high school, in a combat MOS (Tanker). All throughout his training in the most difficult (physically at least) branch, he was consistently the "Iron Man", which is a designation that is associated with the top physical fitness performer in the unit. A couple of times someone else got it, but mostly it was him. At his last rifle qual, he was the top rifleman among over 200 Marines. In 2021 the U.S. government issued vaccine mandates for all military personnel. My son refused it because he saw it for what it really was. They discharged him in February of 2022, due to his refusal to take the clot shot. Most of his fellow Marines simply complied. The military members we lost (discharged) due to that mandate were the best of the best. The real critical thinkers. And I'm proud to say my son was one of them.
I repeat:Strength of Character
