But five days later, top officials repeatedly rejected requests from Donald Trump's security detail for more personnel, and on the 21st of July, the New York Times, confirming what the Washington Post reported, said, "Mr. Gugliemi acknowledged that the Secret Service had turned down requests for additional federal security assets for Mr. Trump's detail."
