BOSTON — Starting next month, unhoused people in Massachusetts seeking state-provided Emergency Assistance shelter will receive services based on their circumstances and residential status, a dramatic change by the state long sought by critics of the Healey administration’s policies.
Gov. Maura Healey announced Tuesday that beginning Aug. 1 the state will prioritize housing Massachusetts families who are homeless following a no-fault eviction, or as a result of a natural disaster, or any family that includes a veteran.
