I'm of French-Canadian descent, and my dad always used to go on about how the French in France were a bunch of fags by comparison, (He called them "Poofter French", kek) but it's still sad to see our once-great culture and people be so denigrated that even the Parisian Olymics can't even show respect.

Like, beheadings? Mockery of Catholic symbolism? That's all they got?

Iirc, the Olympics held in London a few years ago had a lot of celebratory "British" stuff (celebrities, music, etc.) as part of the opening and closing ceremonies. But French people just get a bunch of demonic mockery and erasure.
