I knew them. Heard them in concert for the first time in the early 90's as a teen. Later, as a professional singer/songwriter myself in my twenties, I shared many stages and cocert venues with the Nelons. I was shocked and saddened to learn of this tragic loss. I don't use Facebook, but Kelly Nelon Clark sent me friend request back when it was new, and we have so many mutual contacts. I was surprised to see the plane crash reported here, but it just shows me how important this board is. The Nelons may not be 'your kind of music' (Southern Gospel) but, (as you can tell by the lyrics of their songs,) they were on the right side of the battle we are fighting.

Made it home just after midnight, and heard the terrible news of the crash. Knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep right away, so of course, I took advantage of Night Shift to focus on… something.

Seeing the loss of my singing friends (whom I thought nobody here would notice) make "notables" is bitter, but sweet. I think looking down from Heaven's perspective, and seeing that a few of the Q autists played one their songs would make them proud.

You know, it's been YEARS, but the Nelons recorded a different song called "We've Got Get America Back To God." Those lyrics are running through my mind right now as I calm down, and try to sleep. So true, especially in the historic time we find ourselves in right now.
