This Paris thing is just one more trick out of the Left playbook. Take one of the only arenas where people from all over still come together in relative good will and make it divisive. That's what the Left does…it divides.

So sure, it was an insult to Christianity, but Christianity was also a convienient patsy. I mean, they couldn't use Islam, right? That would put them in actual danger of violent retribution, and the Left are cowards at heart.

The Left are Destroyers by nature, and they will let nothing good stand. Especially if it's not in their control. So, what better than to take an institution that encourages people to set aside their politics for a brief time in celebration of human athletic achievement, an institution that reminds us of our shared humanity, and stick a knife in it? Using Christianity to do so was probably just the cherry on top of the cake for them.

The U.S. viewing numbers are in for the opening ceremony in Paris: 28.6 million.

Naturally, they're praising it to the rooftops. I, however, find the number telling:

  • Note that Rio was considered a "flop" and this number isn't much better

  • Note that they're screaming it was "60% better than Tokyo," despite going out of their way at the time to excuse Tokyo for being Covid-affected, postponed, and in an unfriendly viewing timeslot for U.S. viewers

  • Note that in 2013, Nielsen started including online viewers in their ratings. Given that, shouldn't the viewership number for Paris be MUCH higher?

  • Note that Nielsen's original "estimate" before the real numbers came out was 65 million. I'm curious, was the estimate that high because the first of the 4 hours was that high, then it tanked? Who knows.

  • Note that the RNC, a freaking single-party political convention, got 25 million viewers

The 1984 Los Angeles games only had 23.9 million viewers. Although, that year they were boycotted by Russia (after we boycotted them in 1980). It's not much fun to watch an Olympics when the main competition stays home.
