Deputy Director Ronald L. Rowe was just appointed to the top job in the wake of Kimberly Cheatle’s resignation Tuesday that followed calls from Congress for her to step down after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw was West Palm Beach Police Chief when Rowe worked there in the late 1990s.
Bradshaw told WPBF 25 News Investigative Reporter Terri Parker he has been in contact with Rowe over the years and called to congratulate him Tuesday.
"He worked for me when I was the police chief in West Palm. He was a supervisor there on the tactical street teams — excellent, excellent job he did," said Bradshaw.
"And one day he talked to me, he says, 'I've had an offer to go with the Secret Service to run some of their counterintelligence stuff. What do you think?' And I said, 'I think you ought to take it. It's a great opportunity," said Bradshaw.
