WASHINGTON: "The U.S. Park Police is asking for help from the public identifying five people it says were involved in various criminal activities during pro-Palestine protests sparked by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to D.C. last week. Of the five people pictured in flyers posted on social media, one is accused of assaulting an officer, and the other four are accused of vandalizing federal property. Much of the scene happened at Columbus Circle near Union Station, where memorials were vandalized and an American flag was lowered from a flagpole and burned.
In the wake of the protest, the U.S. Park Police union called on Congress to help them address the “staffing crisis” the unit is facing. The union said they only had 29 officers at Wednesday’s protest.
None of the people pictured by the U.S. Park Police are facing any charges at this moment, though Park Police are asking anyone with information to contact the USPP tip line at (202) 379-4877."
