Anon has worked amongst the union auto workers many times.
First hand knowledge and visibility.
Below in not an isolated incident. More like the norm.
One example of an on-site equipment installation:
Equipment was an-site ready for install.
(Must use plant trades to effect the install per union rules as you cannot take work from the union employees)

Anon arrives to in-plant install site at 7:00 am (as requested)
Union tradesman (installer) arrives on job-site with tow-motor & toolbox at 8:30 am.
Tradesman started to set-up & unpack his tools.
9:15 am tradesman takes a 15 minute break.
9:30 am tradesman goes back to unpacking his tools.
9:45/10:00 am tradesman begins install.
At 11:15 am tradesman cleans up and locks away tools he is using.
Tradesman breaks for lunch at 11:30 am.
12:15 pm tradesman returns from lunch.
12:30 pm tradesman has unpacked tools he needs.
1:45 pm tradesman takes a 15 minute break.
2:00 pm tradesman goes back to install.
2:45/3:00 pm tradesman begins clean up, puts tools away, loads up his tow-motor, and gone.
3:45 tradesman is clocking out & on his way home.

Les than 4 hours of install time each day.
In the end this install took 2 weeks and was slated for 3 days.
