Man is not supposed to be this careless and cruel. We are meant to be filled with love and joy, and overflowing with helpfulness to each other. The world now is in the opposite state of what is meant to be. One can start with oneself, radiating goodness and consideration for others. That invites God into one's heart. That is a blissful state.
