Officials order newspaper to remove ad promoting park meeting in act that is ‘utterly unthinkable.’
A new legal war is looming over a series of attacks by officials in a Massachusetts town on a pastor who wanted to arrange a time and location for some of his church’s members to meet for a Bible study.
Many of the details, including the town, the names of the officials and the pastor, are not being released immediately because the American Center for Law and Justice explains it has written a demand letter in the hope that the dispute can be resolved short of formal court action.
But the ACLJ charged that some of the town’s actions were “utterly unthinkable.” Continue…

The video, set to Heart’s “Barracuda,” shows a beaming Luna walking up to the camera while modeling the attire from multiple body angles, including a backside shot. She then walks away as the footage cuts out.

Stockholm Syndrome: A Hell of a Drug
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2024-08-16/stockholm-syndrome-hell-drug
The ostensible purpose of the Stat News essay below is to promote transparency from the government and pharmaceutical industry regarding the risks and drawbacks of whatever injection they have on deck next.
Via Stat News (emphasis added):
“In February 2021, I received my second Covid-19 shot — the newly developed vaccine that would eventually save millions of lives worldwide — with great anticipation. It proved to be a life-changing event: Two hours later as I was driving home, the shock of a sudden loud and high-pitched whistling nearly caused me to veer off the road. It was as if an audible dog whistle began blaring right next to me. But it wasn’t a dog whistle. It was the acute onset of tinnitus, a ringing in the ear with no external source.
For several years I had lived with minimal, intermittent tinnitus, but never anything like this, so loud and unrelenting.
Could the Covid-19 vaccine have amplified my tinnitus, or was this just a coincidence? I was suspicious, but at that time no data had demonstrated any relationship between the mRNA Covid-19 vaccines and tinnitus.
When I got my third dose in November 2021, the sound became even louder and more bothersome. This new noise level has continued to this day, nonstop, often keeping me from sleep and sometimes bringing me to tears.”
Yet it segues, bizarrely, as most articles in mainstream media on the topic of COVID shots do, with a meandering caveat about how great they are — even while the author concedes that they caused him personally life-altering effects due to a massive orchestrated cover-up campaign in the media and by Public Health™ authorities, which is, again, the entire ostensible point of the exercise. The entire project is a future network of 14,000 satellites, offering multiple services, including direct-to-device connectivity. Half of those spacecraft will be launched by the end of next year and another half by the end of 2027. Continue…
The Global Attack On Small Business
https://www.zerohedge.com/personal-finance/global-attack-small-business
There was a highly conventional travel piece in The New York Times of the sort that such venues have been running for many years now, even decades.
It’s about a small resort town in Italy, namely Bologna, that is being wrecked by tourism and corporations moving in to promote it and take advantage of it, thereby changing the character of the place fundamentally.
You know the type of article. I’ve ignored them for years, dismissing such travelogs as nothing more than the kvetching of the elite rich toward the common man and his desire to see the world. There is nothing more conventional than journalists yammering about the evils of “commercialism.”
However, for whatever reason, I read this one in full. Buried in the article was the following: Continue…

The changes, which came into effect in 2022 shortly after the Liberals and NDP reached a governing agreement, saw a massive boom in the number of temporary foreign workers in Canada.
A company owned by Sukh Dhaliwal, the Liberal member of Parliament for British Columbia's Surrey—Newton riding, is among the long list of Canadian companies hiring temporary foreign workers.
Dhaliwal & Associates Land Surveying was given the green light to hire “legal administrative assistants” under the federal temporary foreign workers program, reports the Toronto Sun.
Like many other Canadian employers, it appears as though Dhaliwal's company is looking to capitalize on the benefits offered to companies for hiring temporary foreign workers.
Meanwhile, nearly 25% of Canadians are so tight on finances they anticipate using a food bank this fall, according to data from Statistics Canada, per Blacklock's Reporter. Continue…

Ukrainian bomb sets Donetsk shopping center on fire (VIDEO)
https://www.rt.com/russia/602677-donetsk-shopping-center-strike/
Up to 100 people are believed to have been inside the mall when it came under attack
A large fire has broken out at a shopping mall in the Russian city of Donetsk after the building was shelled by Ukrainian forces, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, said on Friday.
Footage of the blaze at the Galaktika center has been shared on social media. TASS initially reported that the building caught fire after the Petrovsky district of the DPR capital was shelled.
Pushilin later confirmed the attack, writing on his official Telegram channel that Ukrainian forces had targeted the area at around noon on Friday, causing the mall to catch fire. The blaze spread to more than 10,000 square meters. Donetsk Central Hospital No. 14 was also damaged in the bombardment, he said.
Pushilin added that at least 11 civilians have been injured, including a teenager. Ukrainian forces reportedly conducted a large-scale attack on the city’s Petrovsky district throughout the day, using 155-mm artillery and kamikaze drones. Kiev has so far carried out 14 attacks and fired about 50 rounds of ammunition, Pushilin said. Continue…
Fists fly in Turkish parliament (VIDEO)

A ruling party MP has attacked an opposition colleague during a heated debate
Dozens of lawmakers in Ankara brawled during a tempestuous session of the parliament on Friday, after a ruling party MP struck an opposition colleague who called the government “terrorists.”
Tempers flared as the Turkish legislature debated the fate of Serafettin Can Atalay, an opposition lawmaker currently in prison for his alleged role in the 2013 Gezi Park riots. The Hatay province representative was stripped of immunity and expelled in January, but the Constitutional Court overruled that decision earlier this month.
“It’s no surprise that you call Atalay a terrorist,” MP Ahmet Sik of the Turkish Workers’ Party (TIP) said during the session, according to AFP.
“All citizens should know that the biggest terrorists of this country are those seated on those benches,” Sik added, pointing to the legislators from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). “The truth always hurts. You have no shame or dignity,” he added. Continue…
Russian supersonic bomber crashes in Siberia (VIDEOS)

A Tu-22M3 aircraft went down during a routine flight in Irkutsk Region
One person has died after a Tupolev Tu-22M3 supersonic long-range bomber belonging to Russia’s Air Force crashed in the Irkutsk Region of southeast Siberia, the Defense Ministry has confirmed.
The incident occurred during a routine flight shortly after 10pm local time on Thursday, when one of the jet’s engines apparently caught fire mid-air due to a suspected technical malfunction.
The crew managed to guide the falling plane away from residential areas, ultimately ensuring there were no civilian casualties or damage on the ground. Three of the four crew were found alive and in a “satisfactory” condition, according to initial reports. The captain, who was the last to leave the aircraft, reportedly broke his leg.
All four were hospitalized, and one later died of his injuries, Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Kobzev said early on Friday, citing Defense Ministry sources.
“To my deepest regret, one of the pilots did not survive,” Kobzev said. “Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased pilot. It’s a great loss.” Continue…
Ukraine suffered heavy losses in attack on another Russian region – WaPo
https://www.rt.com/russia/602680-ukraine-belgorod-kursk-losses/
Kiev reportedly launched a botched attack in Belgorod Region, although the Russian Defense Ministry has not confirmed fighting in the area
Ukrainian forces attempted to attack Russia’s Belgorod Region simultaneously with their incursion into Kursk Region, but were met with stern resistance and suffered heavy losses, the Washington Post has reported.
There is “fierce fighting underway” on the border in Belgorod Region, the newspaper claimed on Thursday, citing wounded Ukrainian troops who have been evacuated to Sumy Region in their home country.
The alleged Ukrainian attack on Belgorod Region started “four days ago” and involved a “fleet of armored vehicles [moving] in broad daylight,” one soldier was quoted as saying, describing the operation as “crazy.”
The Ukrainians reportedly tried to enter Russian territory near the Kolotilovka–Pokrovka border crossing. However, unlike in Kursk Region, where Kiev’s troops have made some gains, Russian forces in neighboring Belgorod were well-prepared to repel the incursion, the soldier claimed.
According to the Ukrainian serviceman, the area was fortified with dragon’s teeth anti-tank obstacles and was heavily mined. As soon as they approached the border, Kiev’s troops came under intense attack by Russian artillery, drones, and aerial bombs, he said. Continue…

Kiev is free to use donated Leopard tanks and other combat vehicles during its incursion into Kursk Region, Canada has said
Ukraine has been given approval to use Canadian-donated tanks and armored vehicles on Russian soil, according to a statement by Canada’s Department of National Defense on Thursday. Kiev is currently waging a large-scale incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region.
Ottawa has donated to Kiev a total of eight German-made Leopard 2A4 tanks as well several dozen armored combat vehicles, hundreds of armored patrol vehicles, and several M-777 howitzers. Last month, the Canadian government also announced an additional $367 million military aid package for Kiev.
“Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland, and we’re committed to supporting their capacity,” Canadian Defense Department spokesperson Andree-Anne Pulin told the media on Thursday.
“Canada places no geographic restrictions on the use of military equipment that we donate to Ukraine,” Pulin added.
It is unclear how much, if any, donated Canadian equipment is currently being used in Kiev’s incursion into Kursk Region, which it launched on August 6, marking the largest Ukrainian cross-border offensive since the outbreak of the conflict in 2022.

Poilievre says government-funded media in conflict with free speech
https://tnc.news/2024/08/16/poilievre-media-funding-free-speech1/
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said local journalism is in a “terrible” state in Canada because of the Liberal government’s hefty subsidies for the legacy media.
Poilievre made the comments last Thursday during an interview with The Lake Report, a Niagara-region local outlet. The Conservative leader criticized the validity of the Local Journalism Initiative, a government program that funds the hiring of journalists to cover underserved communities using taxpayer dollars.
Journalists can be eligible to receive up to $60,000 per year under the program.
“It is terrible … how local journalism has done under nine years of Trudeau,” said Poilievre. “He’s tried to take it over and basically wants everyone to work for the government so that he can have regurgitated propaganda paid for by taxpayers.” Continue…
