An Italian newspaper has sparked rage on social media after they used a

picture of Kamala Harris wearing a Native American feathered headdress

in their front page.

Il Tempo, a center right outlet, used the presidential candidate's inflammatory image along the title, 'Hunt for the white man' - referencing Harris' search for a running mate.

Social media users have been slamming the image as racist, and pointing out that Harris has no native American descendance; her father is Jamaican and her mother from India.

The paper's editor-in-chief Tommaso Cerno, however, has defended the cover, saying he chose the headdress because because 'redskins [sic] are the symbol par excellence of all America's minorities.

The editor added that the 'Italian left' is wrongly accusing him of confusing Harris' ethnicity. …
