In the Bible, Jesus tells a parable about a shepherd who leaves his 99 sheep in the open country to search for one that is lost (Matthew 18:12-14, Luke 15:3-7). This parable illustrates God’s love and compassion for every person, likening humanity to lost sheep and Himself as the Shepherd.
