They call it fossil fuel. Why? Because when they started drilling down deeper, fossils of organic matter started to come up with the oil. Organic fossil material is porous and oil seeps in. Oil sands. Shale. All porous. Continental shelf feeds under another into/ towards the core. It all gets heated/ melted the further down it goes. Now think of cooking a pig. You render off the fat from the pig. Same as the earth. Because of pressures, liquid form, the oil is forced upwards to fill voids in the Earths crust.
