ALERT TERMINATED AT PLANT VOGTLE
As of Tuesday Aug. 13 at 2:36 pm EST the alert at Plant Vogtle Units 1 & 2 has been terminated. The original alert declared at 12:00 pm EST DID NOT threaten public safety.
The Alert was originally declared as part of our response process due to a small equipment fire - related to a transformer outside of the nuclear part of the plant- which was fully extinguished quickly. There was no danger to the plant or the public at any time and all units continue to operate at full power.
