Price controls as a "solution" to the problem of undue increases in the quantity of money and spending leads to shortages, and even worse, DESTROYS economic calculation and leads to economic chaos, which leads to fascism/communism.
Harris is scapegoating producers as the blame for why they have to raise their prices in response to rising costs of production, to deflect blame away from her and Biden who CAUSED THE UNDUE INCREASE IN THE QUANTITY OF MONEY AND SPENDING WHICH CAUSED THE PRICE INFLATION
Price controls on consumer goods (e.g. food) are NOT price controls on the costs of production to produce that food, and even more importantly price controls on consumer goods DOES NOT REDUCE NOMINAL DEMAND FOR THOSE GOODS. If price controls are imposed by government, then the SAME higher nominal demand will result in production SHORTAGES.
HARRIS' HANDLERS ARE KNOWINGLY THREATENING FOOD SHORTAGES, WHICH KILLS PEOPLE.
The destruction of economic calculation is even worse, for it leads to economic chaos. For if producers are threatened with jail or fines to reduce their prices from market clearing levels, then they have no way of knowing what the market prices should be, and to navigate the lower consumer prices, they'll have to arbitrarily cut back on INVESTMENT purchases, INCLUDING LABOR, not to mention CAPITAL. This then has a cascading effect, where those producers of those capital goods have no idea what the market prices of the subsequent consumer goods are, so their decision making is also inconsistent with market forces, and they experience shortages, which leads to further shortages and further chaos, because as mentioned price controls DO NOT reduce the nominal demand that is the fault of Harris and Biden in their overzealous spending.
What Harris' script writers are doing is conflating a symptom of inflation, namely rising prices, with inflation itself, all to deflect blame away from their profligate spending that caused the undue increase in the quantity of money and spending that is responsible for the rising prices.
