Especially good on Flyover Country open windows taste of early fall GMs.
Party conventions are like other real big org conventions.
Lotsa people in the party go to them.
The gaslighting is about this somehow being a sign Kamala is like so popular, man.
Normally, the sitting POTUS of a party will speak at their convention.
But, also normally, that POTUS would be running again if eligible to do so.
Not since LBJ in '68 has this situation been in place.
Yeah, but precedence don't mean shit to the 2024 Dims.
Never before has a sitting POTUS won enough party delegates to clinch the (re)nomination only to later say eh, fuck it, I changed my mine so I'll pass.
I'm not sure how refusing the nom even works since it's so unprecedented for the majority delegate holder to refuse to accept them.
So, on the one hand it's certainly possible Joe can make a stink if he changes his mind again.
But, on the other hand this is Joe we're talking about so not sure he could pull off a speech at the convention where he changes his mind.
MAGA Lion has always been controversial.
